Michael A. Kutcher, MD, FACC, FSCAI is currently a Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine at Wake Forest School of Medicine, Winston-Salem, NC. He was a graduate of Jefferson Medical College, Philadelphia, PA. Completed Internal Medicine Internship and Residency at St. Vincent Hospital and Medical Center in New York City and Cardiology Fellowship at Emory University School of Medicine, Atlanta, GA. The last six months of his fellowship he trained directly under Andreas Gruentzig. As a result, in July of 1981 he was recruited to start the Interventional Cardiology program at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center (WFBMC). Dr. Kutcher is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Medicine, and Interventional Cardiology. He is currently the Medical Director of Cardiovascular Information Services at WFBMC. Dr. Kutcher was the institutional Principal Investigator of various multi-center clinical trials at WFBMC including the NHLBI WAVE 5 PCI Registry, TAXUS, BetaCath, PERSEUS, PLATINUM, SYNERGY, EXCEL Left Main, TRANSLATE-ACS Registry, Tryton Bifurcation Study, EVOLVE II, and ARTEMIS. He is on the editorial Board of the Journal of the American College of Cardiology – Cardiovascular Interventions. Dr. Kutcher is the author and co-author of numerous peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters.
